Peer support is a structured process where trained individuals from your industry, with a similar role or experience to you, provide support for life stressors. They can help by sharing experiences, offering advice and encouragement, and promoting wellbeing.
At the heart of the programme are Peer Support Volunteers – fellow colleagues that are trained in listening and support skills. They provide initial, non-clinical strategies to help develop self-awareness, coping mechanisms and resilience. They can also refer to professional support on the rare occasions when further help is needed.
