Maritime

Homesickness, long distance relationships and fatigue are common issues encountered in the maritime industry. The stigma surrounding mental health and worries about job security can mean that sea farers are less likely to ask for psychological support. Studies have shown that mental health can deteriorate during long spells at sea. Peer support allows those that have poor mental health to reach out to a trained, trusted and understanding individual in a similar role.
